Become a cooperator
Want to join the Capitane Coop adventure and help build the label of tomorrow?
Music Lovers — C shares
If you love music and want to take part in building a new model for the music world, while having fun and learning things along the way, C shares are for you.
- €125 per share. Minimum one share. Maximum number of shares per person: unlimited.
- Cooperators get access to a range of benefits: discounts on records, events, studio days, access to soundchecks and recording sessions, vehicle and musical equipment rental, concert tickets and exclusive items (records, T-shirts…) reserved for cooperators.
- Cooperators take part in the general assembly.
The information note (FSMA, in French) is available for download.
Music Makers — B shares
B shares (Music Makers) are primarily intended for musicians who wish to join the Capitane collective; they are not part of the public offering.
Joining the group of Music Maker cooperators is subject to acceptance by the cooperative's artistic committee, made up of Music Makers and Music Lovers. It does not automatically mean joining Capitane Records or the Rocket House: it is a necessary but not always sufficient condition, since the cooperative can support a musician in ways other than through its label or its booking agency.
- €500 per share. Minimum one share. Maximum number of shares per person: unlimited.
- Access to career support from the Capitane team and to the cooperative's services: studio, van, equipment, publishing, label, booking…
- Cooperators take part in the general assembly and in the company's major decisions.
To join the cooperative as a Music Maker, write to us at info@capitane.coop: we will talk it through together before forwarding your application to the artistic committee.
Social economy
We operate within the framework of the social economy: the motivation for investing should not be profit alone, but rather the wish to join a meaningful, forward-looking project that is part of the transition. That said, according to our projections, the shares may eventually yield a return on investment, either as dividends (capped at 6% of the share amount in the social economy) or as capital gains (capped at 100% of the share value).
During the first four years following its launch, the cooperative benefits from the Belgian "Tax-Shelter Start-Up" scheme, which gives cooperators residing in Belgium a 45% tax reduction on the amount invested.
The funds raised are used to:
- build a team — 4.5 full-time equivalents to carry out our missions: booking and events, coordination, communications, content creation, label management, administration and legal; plus a budget for freelance experts on specific assignments (promotion, marketing, consulting…);
- make a few strategic investments: audiovisual, IT and musical equipment, a van, the Capitane.Club platform…;
- invest in artistic projects: the label's releases, concert nights, and the design and production of Capitane Organic products.
In practice
You can commit and purchase one or more shares right now using the online form. You can also acquire shares through your Smart activity, your non-profit organisation or your company.
If you wish to become a cooperator but do not have sufficient savings right away, get in touch: we will find a solution. What matters is your wish to take part in the project.
Please note: the share subscription form is the cooperator's identification sheet. If you are buying shares for several people, you need to fill in one form per person.
If you are already a cooperator and wish to renew your trust in Capitane Coop to support our new projects, you can transfer the amount you want to invest — in increments of €125 — to our ING account BE14 3632 4554 0483, stating your name and the corresponding number of shares in the payment reference.
You will receive a confirmation from us within a day of registering. If you use Hotmail or Outlook, our messages sometimes end up in the "spam" folder: don't forget to check.
The financing, including the Music Lovers cooperative shares (C shares) issued by Capitane Coop, has received the solidarity finance label. The label certifies the financing of activities that generate social and/or environmental value, and guarantees investors transparent and complete information about the financial product. In this regard, we invite you to consult our information note. More about the label: labelfinancesolidaire.be.
